I've been teaching online for several years and enjoy the challenges of teaching and learning on the web. Toward Higher Ground is a web-based professional-development course that follows a research-based approach to achieving three important goals:

• Increase academic achievement
• Improve student character
• Increase student confidence and motivation

The course is designed to take approximately 8 clock hours to complete and provides an optional implementation project that may be used to secure even further professional development credit for efforts at putting course concepts to use. Illinois teachers may earn from 8 to 10 CPDUs (I am an approved provider for the Illinois State Board of Education) for enrolling in this on-demand course, which uses a rolling enrollment system that allows educators to begin the course any time they like. I am currently pursuing an expansion of the course to meet professional development requirements for other states.
